Altec 755C Speakers

Hi all, I'm new here. I've come into possession of a pair of Altec 839A PA Column Speakers in excellent condition. They each have 6-755C 8" speakers (12 speakers total). All are in excellent condition. I'm looking to sell them as a lot but would piece them out if there is interest. My bit of research on the internet seems to indicate that the prices of these can vary quite a bit. I'd appreciate some input as to what you think the market value of these is and, of course, if you have any interest in purchasing them you can make me an offer.

- Sell your 755c(s) on Ebay ( in pairs ) over a period of time ( a 1 year span, sounds about right ) .

- Just don't flood the market ( & tank the going rate >>> whatever that happens to be ).

- You'll find that most posters here use much bigger systems >>> therefore it's highly unlikely that someone here is going to offer to "cash you out " by giving you something like ;
[ 12 units x the going eBay rate, less 50 % ] .

Have you tried looking at "completed sales" on Ebay? That should establish a comparative market price.
Your post may not return good results as it is considered rather poor form to have a first (and sometimes last) post trying to promote a sale or ask for pricing information.
Good luck with your sale, though.

Hi Jeff , :welcome: to the board ! Let me ask a question are you looking to sell the columns as a pair or parting the 755's out in the pairs as Earl said ? Ebay is going to start charging if they haven't already a 9% fee even on the shipping charges.And on high dollar items that can add up to quite a bit of money ! They claim it is to deter people who charge astronomical shipping prices.Who are they kidding.eBay is the only game in town pretty much for world wide sales.Plus they own Paypal so they will charge anything they want, and do, they will keep raising their fees.So I would get on it soon. I would like to see some pictures of the columns and the 755's can you post some Please. :coffeedrinker: I never seen them up close. (839A) Thanks !

PS.We do have a Classified section here as well. Lots of High Resolution pictures will help you to sell them quickly.If you start out selling one pair (eBay) note the amount of bidders who bid up to a certain dollar amount this will let you know if you can sell one pair after another.Your first couple pair will most likely bring the best prices and then falling off after that.I would like to say:

Thanks for the info. I'll do a bit more research. I'm not looking for top dollar, just want to sell them fairly easily to people who might actually use them.

Not sure of the size difference with 403a, I sold a bunch of those to Japan...

I tie pars together with nylon ties. A pair can fit a large flat rate USPS box.

I prefer 1/8 inch foam in multiple layers...not foam rubber but the white plastic kind.

Prices can vary. I would do auctions starting at 250 for 7 days. Offering to ship east as in the Orient helps.

As has been mentioned you can post in the classifieds here free and reach users, but users tend not to be as rich as collectors. You have enough to do both.
